I have had an ASUS P5N-E SLI for quite a while now, and I keep experencing lockups.
My system is water cooled, so it is not heat related. My CPU idles around 32-34. My GPU idles around 34-36.
I have the latest nForce drivers for the 650i SLI chipset.
My system is 14 hours stable Orthos + RTHDRIBL.
My system is not 'roaming [H] stable' though?
I can not find a pattern to this lock up.
I tried upping the northbridge voltage to make the system more stable.
My voltages are currenlty:
CPU: 1.325 (Intel C2D E6300 @ Stock)
RAM: 2.085 (G.Skill DDR2-800 @ 800 5-5-5-15 which is stock)
Northbridge: 1.535
I don't think it is undervoltage, because I am 14 hours stable Orthos and RTHDRIBL.
I have noticed that some weird things have been happening.
When I had my Gigabyte DS3, the same hardware did not EVER lockup.
I use to boot VERY quickly, seeing how I have a 150GB Raptor, but now, it boots VERY slowly, and I hear the drive clicking multiple times.
My ASUS P5N-E SLI did not use to lock up.
It didn't lock up when I had the old Gigabyte DS3 drivers on my hard drive.
I did not do a fresh install when I put the motherboard in at first.
Booting up was fast at first, but then VERY slow over time.
Then I did a fresh install, and now I am experencing these lockups at random times.
When the lockup occurs, my sound loops, and I can adjust the DPI on my Logitech G5, but I can not adjust the NUM lock or CAPS lock on my keyboard.
I am forced to having to press the Reset switch on my computer.
Sometimes, for example, when I am playing Lost Planet, the "lockup" would occur, but if I wait about 2 minutes, my system responds VERY VERY slowly.
Anyone have any idea what it is?
I will try a fresh install, new drivers, anything.
Thanks for reading.
