Aspect Ratio problem

So I've got this very exasperating problem. I got an NEC 20WMGX2 two weeks ago. Awesome monitor, especially when upgrading from an awful Dell 17" CRT the could only go to 1152x864 @75hz.

The problem I'm having is that I can't get it to it's native aspect ratio of 16:10. It stays in 16:9, which gives me a very shimmery image in everything and is making my eyes sore after 20 seconds or so of looking at the screen.
