Ok well i have a server with three harddrives.

The original configuration was
Primary Master - 80GB Western Didgital (Original Server 2003 Install)
Primary Slave - 20GB WD
Secondary Master - DVD Drive

Now i bought and installed a 160GB harddrive And i formatted the 20GB WD and installed Server 2003 on it.

Now the original OS that was on the 80GB WD is not in use. And i want to remove the drive to use else where. BUT When i do, it cant find a boot record.

I have tried copying over boot.ini (editing it of course to direct to where the new OS install is), ntldr, and ntdetect.com to the 20GB harddrive and removing the 80GB. But when i boot from the 20GB, it gets to the "Searching for boot record from IDE-1, OK" then freezes right after it says OK.

What can i do short of formatting the 20gig and reinstalling it without the 80gig drive in the system?

(Sorry for the confusion with drives.. lol)
