been having a strange problem with the android browser in 2.3. if I try logging into a site, after I enter my details and click the log in button, nothing happens, the site won't even try to load. another problem, if I try loading a site, or clicking a link on a site, nothing will happen, however if I click menu>stop, the site all of a sudden shows up. this is all over wifi, other computers on the same network even ones on wifi don't show any of these problems.

android browser wont load pages

opera works, but i hate opera cause i can't fine tune the pinch to zoom amount. yes, hd2, i'm using hyperdroid 4.0
I tried google for answers but i just dont know where to begin describing the problem. dolphin HD seems to work too, maybe I'll switch to that since it has bookmark folders. what do you use?

just curious what radio and carrier are you using? my iphone with the same SIM card would have a steady 2 bars in my house, with the SIM in my HD2, I get anywhere from no service to full bars, its been draining my battery like crazy, and I have data off. I flashed to a different radio today, gonna see how it does overnight.
if data is turned off, am I still using either a 2G or 3G network for calls? I'm wondering if seeing full bars is the edge network, and then seeing no service, or 1-2 bars is the 3G network, perhaps its still switching between 2G and 3G networks even though data is turned off?
I enabled use only 2G networks, with data off. only used about 8% of my battery while the phone was idle for 9 hours. with use only 2G networks disabled, I would use about 50% battery in 9 hours while I was asleep. so I guess my theory is fact, even with data disabled, its still switching between 2G and 3G networks because my house is in a poor 3G area. my signal goes from 2-4 bars now too. It hasn't lost signal yet cause its not trying to connect to 3G
interesting....with data fully disabled i ws out and about all day today(8 ish till 2, so a solid 6 hours), and idled on the phone most of it, lost 5% battery power. i guess just depending on your battery (i dont have a data plan atm so i cant test)
hm, thats about what I would get idle now that its not trying to connect to 3G, did you have use 2G only networks enabled? will you have data when you switch to tmobile? I wonder if live wallpaper drains my battery when I'm doing other stuff on the phone, like gaming or browsing. and if it even drains it when the phone is idle, i know the live wallpaper that I'm using has a process thats always running when I check.
1) Yup, going to have 3G
2) No data on at all, no 2G or 3G, however i have full signal nearly all the time dont know if that makes a difference
3) yup, live wallpaper would be the issue, i never use it because of the battery drain, and small(yes its there) performance hit, since it is always running
I've had those types of browser issues on Froyo on my EVO (on the Sense-skinned browser no less, it's still stock at base I think tho). Hasn't happened in a while tho (not since my last ROM flash). Usually if you force close the browser and re-open it'll go away, or even if you just close all the tabs and back out of it then let it sit for a second before re-opening.
I've also had a weird freeze problem on a tab-per-tab basis where if I double tap to zoom it'll zoom in but won't reflow the text and it'll get stuck in a state where I can't scroll. Tapping again a few times tends to unfreeze the tab.
I've used Opera (didn't really like it) and Dolphin HD Mini, I left Dolphin installed and I use it occasionally but I still like the uncluttered look/feel of the stock Sense browser the most. Plus the artificial tab number limit, it sounds silly but being limited to half a dozen tabs on my phone kinda helps me keep my browsing on it organized. Otherwise I go hog wild as I would on my desktop.
