AMD Retail Employee Purchase Program

Malatov said:
Well, I actually purchased FarCry when it came out. No CD key was asked for during install, and I played the single-player game all the way through. There IS what appears to be a CD key on the back page of the manual in the white box on the lower left, but as I said it was never asked for during install.

I haven't played multi-player yet, perhaps they ask for it then, I don't know...

Also, you keep referring to "the CD" as if there was only one. I'm assuming you've got the DVD version of FarCry, because the CD version is 5 CD's long. I wanted the DVD version when I bought mine, but it wasn't available in North America.

Yeah, I have the DVD version, and yes it only asks for the key when you go to play the multiplayer. I'm guessing someone screwed up when shipping it and gave me just a plain white sleeve. I'll call Ubisoft tomorrow when they're open and see what I can get out of them.

w00t w00t!

Yet another purchase program taken advanatage of! :)
I have done intel's every year they have done it and now this amd one... You guys go to RetailAccess.com ?

Lots of good free stuff EVERY month!.

Finally AMD answered my request and I got the deal this morning! So happy... now if only I could get the MSI NEO Platinum board instead!

How'd you work that out?
Look back through these threads for the marketbuilder.amd.com link. It's where I got mine -- no rebates and no proof of employment needed. I signed up as an end-user and they still let me order it. $191 delivered, got it today.

Yes, just put in anything. If you work for a company, put the company's website. If you go to school, put in their website URL. Then fill out the info to register. After registration they tell you it will take 3 days to confirm your information, but it lets you login right away and order the combo.

One last question... what happens when they confirm the info? they contact you by phone or anything? I don't need my boss calling me asking about some crap i signed up for ;)

Nothing happened in my case. I got a welcome e-mail 3 days later saying I was approved for membership. I gave them my direct phone number at work and they never called me.

They're obviously not caring how you sign up, because a friend of mine signed up as an end-user using his personal website that had nothing but an "Under Construction" page, and he was approved and his order was shipped.

Anyone notice that if you order from the retailpro site, its item "AMD-1900".. and if you order from that other site where you dont have to work for a retailer, its item "AMD-1901"?

It leads me to believe that there is some minor difference?

No differences. They're just using different SKU's to track where the orders come from.

Both offers are for a full A64 3200, Asus K8V SE Deluxe with all accessories, Far Cry DVD, and AMD T-Shirt.

mine arrived today also, 192 to my door step :) signed up as end user gave my company info just a hotel.

now iam at work have not installed it yet, is this gonna be a 2ghz 3200 with 1mb or a 2.2 ghz with 512?

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

It will be a 2.2Ghz/512K Newcastle.

OK - Late to the party but I am hoping that I am not too late.....

I signed up on the site and got to the page where I click agree to the terms and conditions. The page hangs there.

Assuming my data went through - how long do I have to wait for this thing to go through so that I can login and get the process started to order the mobo/cpu combo?

Thanks

Finally got through on this. Thank god. For some reason I got charged tax. Did anyone else get charged tax on this?

Mine arrived today.. it was DOA. called tech support said they would mail a new box out, but sucks i gotta repack the old one and mail it back.

also sucks gotta probaly wait till monday now to get new one :( i already sold my old 2400 and board 3 days ago! gah

I got mine a few days ago, and it rocks. Can't really beat the deal for $192. This mb is VERY picky about memory. Tried my Consair XMS CL2 and that keeped corrupting my HD, info, BSOD, etc...............But when I tried my Micron 3200 and Kingston HyperX, 0 problems, rock solid. So those who are having problems with your MB make sure you try different memory. 35°C idle, 43.5°C under full load with stock cooling(AS3) in Texas's Heat..........woohooo.. :D :D

If you don't qualify for the program don't fuck it up for the rest of us who do. I posted that link for those who worked for AMD partners...if you're a partner and your company isn't enrolled in the market builder program, go for it, but signing up as an end user is just screwing the rest of us out of the deal that AMD is offering us, as there's limited quantities.

If you bought it in the state that it was shipped from they're required to charge tax...what state are you in?

I agree with Morley about working for an AMD partner in order to do this deal (which I do). But during the signup I registered as an enthusiast and it still allowed me to take the quiz and order the combo without confirming my employment. Why would they just let an enthusiast do it then without checking for credentials?

too late for that. the deal was posted on fatwallet and shacknews yesterday. they brought down the site. i think this deal is dead.

Not to mention that on the marketbuilder site, they mentioned that the deal was open to enthusiasts

I think people have ordered over 10,000 judging from the thread on FW. People did not work for an AMD partner and some where ordering 2-3 combos!! I doubt AMD is going to ship out that many combos. FW killed the deal for us.

i hope they ship.... i ordered today and they already took the money out of my account..

(i work for a huge huge military communications contractor)

I was able to get through and take the test last night about 3:00 AM Pacific time. The load on the server had let up by then.

I have a question for those of you that got the combo already, what kind of packaging does it come in?? is it just the bare board with cpu or what?

Im building one now that a friend got (works for tigerdirect)

strange mine works now i used a old stick of pc2100 ram it turnd on then i swithced back to the ram that didnt work before and now it works.. also after installing windows the bios told me cpu error nto secure it seems the cpu is not set very well or is loose, strange that the old ram caused the new ram to work though.

FW people can really over do things in persuit of saturating the ebay market with their deals. Pisses me off.

Well mine currently reads as shipped, so in theory it should arrive next week.
