I just put together a new AMD 64 system and the pc won't run when I have both of my ram sticks in, but it runs fine with just 1 stick. First the specs:

AMD 64 3400+
1GB Corsair XMS PC3200 (2 x 512mb)
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
Western Digital 200GB SATA

When I have both stick of 512 ddr in, the pc beeps over and over fairly slowly, and I get no video at all. When I remove the 2nd stick of ram the pc runs fine, I am on it right now. I know both sticks of ram work as I used them in my last pc. Can someone please help me?

Not for nothing, but have you tried switching the slots you put the ram in.
Meaning :
Stick A works in slot 1, but with Stick B in slot 2 system wont boot.
Will Stick B work in slot 1 and boot?
And have you tried Stick B in slot 1 and Stick A in slot 2?

I dont know why but on a friends system this worked when he had boot problems.

im fairly certain ive tried every possible combination

dimm1&2, 1&3 and then switched the ram sticks and tried the same thing again. =/ its really pissing me off cause the MSI site specifically says corsair works with this mobo.

a64s have problems with more than 1 double sided stick of memory(if thats what you have), but ive never heard of it being that bad. I cant use Cool and Quiet on my mobo if i have more that one memory stick installed  have you tried just one stick at a time? perhaps one is b0rked?

I'm having the same problem with my corsair. Both sticks are double sided and they won't work together.... yet each stick works fine on its own. I'm pissed.... now I'm going to have to get a single 1gig stick.

I sure hope that doesn't happen with my corsair and fx-53. That would be terrible, especially since I have 4 gigs of RAM that I'm putting into it. Although I'm using the asus sk8v mobo. I'll be crossing my fingers until I can test out my pc.

Yeah, I'd like to keep tabs on this as well. I'm getting the 3800 and A8V MB and some Corsair XMS. Its recommended on corsairs site...

I read about someone having a similiar problem. To fix it they put one stick in, let it boot and went into the bios set the cas latency to 2.5 or 3(it was cas 2). Shut it down then put the second stick in and everything worked. Hope this helps.

I tried that, didn't work for me. But what I did do was call corsair tech support. The guy told me since one of my sticks was v1.1 and the other is v4.1 that I need to RMA my v1.1 and they'll send me another v4.1 which should work. I'll post if it works or not when I get it.
