Ok,well I seem to be having some problems here, and I think its heat issues, but im not sure. anyway,on to the problems. When im gaming (call of duty 2) i start out fine, great fps from my 7900 GT, and then as i play longer, out of no where i start getting huge pc lag, not internet, and at first I thought it was my cideo card heating up, but it wasnt, staying at normal temp's, but then would go away, then it did it one more time and BAM, freeze up and locked down completely. so I had to restart, and its done this before to where it just restarts, and I noticed when it does this it's pretty warm in the room im in and pretty warm under m desk, which lead me to believe it might be my cpu heating up, but im not sure. In my case i have just one big 120mm fan in the back and a normal small size fan on the side of my case, and im not thinking its enough. So do these problems sound like heat? if so, i plan on adding another 120mm fan on the front of the case for some more air flow.

those problems can deffinately be related to heat issues. If you are sure your vid card is not heating up it could be the CPU thats heating up and since modern CPU's have thermal monitors to throttle the clock speed back when they get to hot that could be the reason for the slow down then it speeds back up when it gets to a decent temp. I would say try running the game in windowed mode and monitor the temps on the cpu and vid card and see what is going on. What are the specs of your system??

alright, and yeah im sure its not my video card, i checked it in game and its at its normal temps. and the specs for my pc are:

cpu- venice 3200
gpu- xfx 7900gt 520mhz
ram-corsair 1gb
mobo- asua a8n-sli premium

Check your cpu temps in the bios right after playing CoD2. Tell us what you find.

the only problem with that is that sometimes it will cool down enough in the time it will take to get there that it may not mattery. If you MB didnt come with any type of monitor software I would download some of the ones that are on the net.
