Hi all,

I currently have a 250GB WD drive. I want to get a SDD either 40GB or 80GB, on to which I will put windows 7 ultimate, and all my program files, they currently take up 32 gigs. I am worried that 40 gigs isn't enough. Further, when I actually buy this, how should I go about this? Can I just switch my current drive into slave install fresh copy of windows on new drive then delete program files directory and windows directory from old drive, or do I need to complete reformat it?

Thanks for the help.

I suspect a 60BG SDD drive would be prefect, but I want something that has spotless reliability, like the intel 40 gig or the intel 80 gig (I just hate spending 200 bucks on a SDD drive)

yes, though technically to comply with windows liscencing you should delete the first installation before you install it on the second hard drive, but i wont tell on you.

i would probably keep just about all your program files on the other hard drive, only special programs that you need to be specifically fast put on the SSD. like one or two games that you play all the time, or photoshop or something. they will automatically be faster anyway, now that windows isnt using the hard disk at the same time.

Thanks for reply. I use Word, Excel, and a database program a lot. Plus, a little bit of photoshop and Dreamweaver.

Plus, I play league of legends, but I was afraid that if I don't put program files on new drive I wont get great improvement. If what you are saying is true I can just go with the 40 gig drive.

I am not looking forward to reinstall all my software.

Thanks again,
