Abit boards and controller card question

Ok, I have an Abit motherboard with an Sata controller card onboard, I have 2 40gig HD's that I want to setup in raid 0 but there Ata100 Drives.

My question is this;

Can I use a promise controller card with my abit motherboard?
Or seen as how Abit is in bed with Highpoint, do I have to use a Highpoint controller card so I won’t run into any compatibly issues?
