My sisters comp has this problem where the internet gets really slow as the computer stays on. I've run all type of scans for spyware/virus and didn't find squat. I replaced her hsf unit with a Zalman heatsink w/o fan. The same issue occurs.

Is it possible her whole chipset is bad and she needs a new mobo?

She's got an Asus A8N-E Socket 939 with the nForce4 chipset.

"internet gets really slow"
Try a lan card maybe? cheapo ones usually cost less than 10 bucks. I have like 10 in a drawer from old computers I scrapped :/
If that isnt it, then its a software or router issue.
