I just RMA'ed a pair of VX 4000 back to OCZ but since they have discontinued the VX line I will be recieving a pair of PC-4800 Platinum Edition EL DDR instead..
Now the dilemma is that I have another pair of VX 4000 and am using that now,
wich RAM should I use when my 4800 Plat. arrives ?
My setup is as follows:
DFI SLi DR
1 gig VX 4000 @ 250mhz 2-2-2-8
Opteron 175 @ 2750 mhz (CCBWE 0550 UPMW)
2x Evga 7800GTX 256 mb
1x 36gig Raptor
SB Audigy X-Fi
2x 520W PSU´s
Bunch of HDD's etc, etc

i'd stick with the new sticks, 300mhz binned ram is pretty fun ;)

perhaps if you wanted to, sell both the pc4800 and the VX? should fetch you a solid $275-325, and then you can guy a cool 2x1gb set from somewhere :D
