I have a gtx1070 which has a max resolution of 7680X4320@60Hz. I have an Oculus Rift I run steam virtual desktop on. I currently have a 1920X1080 monitor and a Fit 4K headless display emulator. In virtual desktop I can see the emulator as a 4K monitor 4096X2160. Works great great money saver but I'm thinking of getting an actual 4 K monitor and 2 more emulators and trying out a 2X2 Nvidia Surround set up with the 3840X2160 Monitor and 3 emulators set to 3840X2160 resolution so I can see the full max resolution of 7680X4320. Has anyone here tried running 4 4K monitors in Nvidia surround in a 2X2 setup? I'd be interested in hearing how it performed, If it really has the 60Hz refresh rate and if you thought the card was sufficient to drive it.

I don't think Surround supports a 2x2 configuration. Maximum supported resolution according to the website 11520x2160 in landscape or 6480x3840 in portrait, which is 3x1 at 4K.

Thanks for the reply. So that would be 3 4K monitors in portrait mode?
