I looked around on a couple of forums and nobody mentioned anything similar, so maybe it's my system. But since I switched to 71.xx and then some leaked 76 and 77 drivers from my 66.xx on a 6800GT I experience weird stops during games. Tested OpenGL and DirectX and it happens in both, most often at 1600x1200. Temperature is never higher than 65 celsius, so I assume that's ok. In any case the symptomps are I'm playing some game, the display stops, the music stops, then in about 25 to 55 seconds the screen will flash, like when you redraw the whole screen from scratch and everything continues. This happens in just about any game, from SWG to GTA:SA, but even older stuff like Quake1 or Quake2. Once I switched back to the old driver (66.xx) the issue went away, so I downloaded the latest WHQL drivers again, and tried again and got same result. So now I'm back to the older ones again, anybody experienced anything similar?

Yup, had the same problem. Turn off AGP Fast Writes in BIOS; fixed it entirely for me.

Have to ask - have you stripped out the old drivers completely, using something like Drivercleaner?

Also - what are your system specs? Reason I ask is that someone else was having similar issues & they were running an nForce 3 platform. Well, similar in that they had stuttering etc which was resolved when going back to 66.**

I'm currently running an Intel rig and am generally out of the loop re. nForce and compatibility issues. Might, presuming you're running an nForce rig, be a good place to start.

EDIT - well, there ya go /\ /\ /\ /\ !
