5090 in stock and it looks like it is staying in stock

Anyone who owns a 4090 can sell it and get most of if not the entire cost of the vanilla 5090's. You just have to get your hands on a 5090 and be willing to wait for a serious buyer. Even if you're impatient or looking to hook someone up, you can still get $1500 pretty much immediately.

why bother though..

I was just at the Best Buy near me and they had one in the store! Couldn't believe my eyes. $2799

They even had a 5080 for $999. Crazy times we live in where cards are actually in stock at brick and mortar locations. :ROFLMAO:

As others have mentioned the supers must be closer to landing than originally thought. No way FEs would be dropping at this regularity if Jensen didn’t have the next glut of induced scarcity up his leather sleeve.

The lack of games that I truly need additional horsepower for is keeping me away. Considering I'm still going to need to use DLSS and frame-gen on a 5090 (and I'm capped at 120hz), I'm out of the 5090 biz and will probably just wait for the 60-series. At least unless something crazy comes out, like HL3, and needs more juice.

induced scarcity
People still crying about this? News flash, we will likely not see another time when excess GPUs would sit in warehouses for extended periods. The bit of trouble Nvidia faced with their shareholders after having to write off excess inventory of the 3000 series pretty much sealed the deal on that one. Get used to it.

Samsung just paper launched a 500hz oled.

That's well beyond the point of diminishing returns as far as my eyes are concerned :p Can't say I'd say no to a 70" LG set that can do 240Hz, though.
Being capped at 120hz is a personal problem in 2025 though, cheapskate ;p

Had BB ready to PM the 5090 but decided naah..the market for my 5080 fe is bad given the recent sales here and the 5090 just isn't worth the 1300+ additional with tax over the 5080...

This morning the daily email from Microcenter mentioned they had availability of multiple 5090 models. They don't post anything in those emails that they don't have lots of.
(EDIT: Looking at the Denver location website, they indeed have a bunch. Most of them are theoretically marked down, too.)

Over the last two months we've gone from no availability, to available for $3000+, available for $2800+, available for $2500+, and now $2200+

We should see steady availability for $2000 cards very soon.
i agree it has been like 6 months and people that really wanted one have one. even the SI have cards waiting for builds. But i tell you this even with the newest drivers my wall paper goes in and out from wall paper to black over and over again. I will not be a first buyer after what i have seen.

Wallpaper going in and out is a sign of instability. I don’t have those problems. If it persists try double checking your cable and also ensure that you DDU with newer drivers.

i don't know what DDU is i just update the drivers never a 100% uninstall. I guess this is the problem

I have not used DDU or any similar uninstall program for like 15+ years and do not have issues.

PNY 5090 is selling at 2199 at microcenter, very close to MSRP.
Glad prices are coming back down for people. That card is about as basic as you can get for a 5090 and the cooling solution isn’t the best (and I've seen reports it has crazy coil whine for some), but if you luck out, it would be within 3~5% of the best cooled AIB models. If ur not in the hobby to chase benchmarks or get every ounce of performance, it would be a great card for most people.

2200 smokes to get an AIB that doesn't heat up like a furnace seems like a good deal. For me though, Suprim is really worth it.

If you have gui niggles try DDU first then install the new driver. If you still have issues proceed further down the testing process.

MSI also dropped prices at their store.

Ventus eww model for 2300
Trio for 2400
Vanguard for 2500
Suprim for 2700

Not too bad.

Gigabutt dropped a 100 on Amazon for Aorus Master.

Asus dropped 200 on Asus TUF OC model.

Well, The shit is still going on and it black min and then the next i get my wall paper back. I might try DDU because this shit IS annoying as fuck. I mean the cpu is a 65watt 285 so its not like over clocking everything in the system.

Nice, the Suprim is close to what MSRP was for it originally from MSI. No regrets buying when I did tho, love the card and have had a solid 3~4 months of gaming with it.

If I didn't already have a 4090 I'd snatch up one of those retail'ish models at Microcenter. Just because they aren't a huge jump over my card doesn't mean they aren't a massive jump over whatever else people might be on.

5090 TUF for 2 grand at MC and BB. Totally worth it over the FE.
I wonder if the cooling down of GPU prices has to do with the executive order on allowing AI exportation to China for a cut of the revenue.

After watching some of the pains the black market had to go through in the GN expose now the AIBs can take their profit off the increased production and sellable yield (due to less “missing” GPU cards at factories).

I don’t know but I would’ve bought the TUF for 2 grand on release. I literally missed it by seconds.
