360 Co-op games?

My wife and I just got a 360 over the weekend, and picked up Dead Rising and Assassin's Creed. However, what we're really looking for is some good co-op games, preferably playable online. My wife is hyper-competetive, so Vs. games where we play against each other are not good... :( Ideally, I'd love to find a few games that we can play locally, or over Live, where we're on the same team.

It should go without saying that we've only got one 360, so any games that require a second console for the second player are not workable.

So what games should we get? We never had the original XBox, so any of those games that work on the 360 would be fine too.
 
If you like Halo, the third installment has a nice co-op mode via campaign. You could also pair up on live and play on the same team. I just got my 360 though so that's all I know of that I've played.

Good coop racing games (that my wife and I have enjoyed) are Burnout 3: Takedown and Burnout Revenge.

Also, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga is great for co-op couples!
 
Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Best Co-Op game available for wife/girlfriend types.

Are those co-op? I've got Burnout on the PS2, and it's definitely a "race against each other" type of game. When there's a winner and a loser, there tends to be problems.

Also, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga is great for co-op couples!

That's a definite winner. We've got the first game for the PS2, and will probably be buying Complete Saga for the Wii.

Are all of these games being suggested split-screen? That's ideal, because we have a very large viewing area.

Sorry, you are quite right; Burnouts are competitive. Sorry.

Lego Star Wars actually is not split screen (which you already know, I guess).
 
Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Lego Starwars are probably two of the better co-op games.

Kameo co-op is pretty fun too.

Gears, Halo 3, PDZ, Vegas, GRAW1&2 all have pretty good co-op game modes if you like shooters.

Check out the xbl arcade. Many co-op arcade games all with free trail downloads.

Also, I really enjoyed Earth Defence Force 2017's co-op with my bro. Quite fun blowing up giant alien bugs and leveling an entire city (Local co-op only and don't except great animation or graphics. It was released as a budget $40 title. If you can even find it now it should be real cheap).

I agree, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, great co-op game, and so is Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, hours and hours of co-op fun.
 
Crackdown doesn't have a split screen co-op mode. It requires two boxes, so thats out.

Oh, Kane and Lynch has split screen co-op, but it sucks big, as in black-hole-nothing-will-escape style suckage.
