Saw this @ TigerDirect....started drooling of course...

Not sure how good of a price this is...but I thought it was a nice deal.

Linky

Let me know :p

Hmm... does it come with a 10yr/100k mile warranty? :p

not sure'bout the quality, i dunno, it's kinda cheap for an lcd tv, but i guess if it's crap -- well, $1000 is a lot of money to waste... lol

cheers,

yass

Pretty nice I say.
Hyundai as in electronics are in different category in computer product than their cars. (even their cars are improving significantly) I still remember the days when Samsung LCD was viewed with skepticism until it became premier brand in LCD. Hyundai has such prestige in European market in case people didn't know. They recently started pushing for US market so we can see nice competition to drive down the cost again. It is one of few companies that have their own fabs to create LCD panels in case people didn't know. Can't say same for many brands out there.
As for comment on TigerDirect, have you personally had bad experiences with them? I haven't had bad one yet as well as having 24x7 customer support makes it pretty decent company to me, except their typical price on item that are not on sale. Can't say same about Amazon or Buy.com or Zipzoomfly. (previous 2 with no phone # to call in case of problem and last one with sub par customer support when things don't go right). But than, I only purchase about dozen item from TigerDirect so far so I could have avoided potential issues vs 3 others I mentioned where I have over two dozen orders from last few years.

i can speak from experience that TG really is that bad. Although my experience was 3-4 years ago, i've never done business with them again.

it was so bad, my wife said she'd kill me if i shopped there.

their service has dramatically improved in the last couple of years. the prices are good...but i often find that shipping kills the deal.

Lol, hyundai also makes giant ships and heavy equipment. It is kind of the same company branched off in different sectors because it was becoming a monopoly on everything in japan.

Dead, whatever it was.

TigerDirect and globalcomputer are almost the exact same site. One is for canada, though. If you look closely, the similarity is undeniable. Don't trust them either. I have had 1 bad order from them, my first, last, and only.

I haven't had a bad experience from them because I've never ordered there due too all the horror stories I've read about. I have a friend though that buys all his computer stuff there and has never had a problem (that he'll admit to anyway).

Wal-Mart has 15ms 30" LCDs for that price right now, with about $13 shipping...
