I have an issue where the monitor gets stuck in power save mode on boot. If any had this problem and fixed it, could you enlighten me with a solution. Thanks!

Steps to re-produce:

I am using Windows Vista.

1. Keep monitor turned off (ie amber or blue LED light is OFF)
2. Computer is plugged into DVI-D 1 input
3. Boot Computer and wait the normal amount of time to get into your login screen (I wait about 30s to a 1min to be safe)
4. Turn on monitor

At this point, the monitor looks like it's going to switch the picture on but fails and says power saving mode--ARRGH!

Just update my post to make it clear on how the problem occurs. Maybe someone can help.

since you own one of these monitors i am wondering if you could help me.

So these monitors 3008WFP & 2709W have 1:1 pixel mapping? if so doe that mean that they will always run at the native resolution but will add black bars to adjust to fit the image.

i just want to be sure that the image isn't going to distort if i run something that isn't running at its native resolution.

Vega, this is about 3008WFP, not W3000H.

I have the 3008WFP but won't be able to test it because I very rarely restart my computer and when I do the bootloader requires my interaction but I don't think that it's the monitor thats the culprit here. My guess would be the graphic card (or it's driver) not sensing the monitor and perhaps switching to the tv-out output or secondary display or something (if one is connected). If it were a monitor issue then you would have the same problem just shutting it down and starting it up when in windows all the time - and that I've had no issues with.

With the 3008WFP you have three options. Scale it to full-screen, scale it to full screen but keep the aspect ratio (meaning black bars if the content is of different aspect ratio) and 1:1 pixel mapping with black bars around the whole image (if the resolution is lower than native).

Example: (from http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033727674&postcount=80 which has more info and pictures)
This is component but the same goes for VGA and DVI and I suppose HDMI and displayport as well but havent tried that. Low-resolution analog inputs like composite or s-video might not work this way but no real loss really.
I hooked up the xbox 360 (via component with 1080p) just to try out the different options for scaling the image.
Streched to fullscreen:

Enlarged, keeping aspect ratio:

1:1 pixel mapping:

I've had this issue from time to time with various monitors over the years. I've got a 4 port KVM switch and multiple systems and if one boots when I do not have the KVM switched to it, chances are, I won't see video when I switch to that system later.

I do notice something different about the latest nVidia drivers in that it seems to auto-detect when I switch KVM ports. Maybe it'd fix this issue. I haven't given that a try yet.

I have this exact same issue with my 3008WFP. It only happens if you wait to turn on the monitor after your computer reaches the vista login screen, or after it logs in. If you turn it on while during the POST, it will work, for me at least. It is just very irritating.
