How much voltage would you need to overclock a 3000+ winchester to 2.5-2.6 GHz, and what is the limit for memory and CPU voltages? I am a noob to overclocking, I just need some pointers to prevent me from burning my processor.

it depends..some people can get a high ovreclock with little bump to vcore, some it takes more

just be very careful with your vcore...the winchesters are supposedly pretty sensitive to it

on my machine, i am a 278x9@1.69 and it isnt stable :(

I didn't get that high but I was able to go to 2.4GHz Rock solid stable.

Asus A8V rev 2.0 bois 1010.xx beta
Athlon 64 3000+ (939) @ 267x9=2403 (1.50 v)
Stock cooling, Max Temp at Load - 44C
PQI Turbo PC3200 Dual Ch. 1024mb (2x512) @ CPU/11 = 218.5 MHz (2.5 3 3 7)
HTT @ 4x = 1068.02 ( 3x not stable, no boot)
AGP/PCI Locked @ 33/66 MHz

I tried 278x9 but I couldn't find a stable combo and I lost intrest... Maybe later.

Good luck, be sure to post if you find the right settings
