2 LTSP setups..which box for which setup?

I have 2 LTSP networks I will be running and 2 different comps and was just looking for input on which box would work best for which network

setup A:
running K12 ltsp (Fed core 4) serving 14 thin clients , running Esound server so each thin client can listen to music ..thin clients have limited internet access...lite open office usage and lite game usage (games that come in Fed core 4).. acts as a printer server .. host files and music accessable by 12 Win2K boxes .. will also be streaming video via VLC for the Win2k boxes and for the thin clients as soon as I figure out how on the thin clients(might have to stick with Xine for thin clients)

setup B:
running K12 ltsp again ,serving up to 20 thin clients maybe more down the road.. heavy internet use w/ email for all boxen .. heavy open office usage on all boxen ..maybe lite game usage... and possible file server.

comp 1:
MSI NEO2 Plat
nForce3 chipset
x2 +3800
4 512meg sticks=2GB
250GB Sata

comp 2:
Gigabyte 939 something
nForce3 chipset
single core +3000
4 512meg sticks=2GB
250GB Sata

I'd go A-2 B-1. I'd guess the heavier workload is B - OO is no lightweight.

The sooner you put all your file storage in one redundant, backed-up place, the sooner you will be happy.

 
You are going to be wanting more RAM in your server for setup B, if you are going to have lots of thin clients (> 5) doing openoffice work. At least, I really think so. Also, like the guy above me said, you should really look into getting a centralized, RAID-ed storage box too

eventually ..or equivalent and we have a couple linux boxes open for storing stuff onto already , but setup B isnt hooked up to main network as of yet so the file serving part of it will be temporary at best.

setup A tho is using comp 2 right now and is what I have setup for the kids for typing papers , lite internet research and the Win2k boxen for gaming on.

comp 1 was originally built to be an Oracle server , but it didnt pan out.
