2 Aopen LCD monitors fried!

Hey guys, just letting you all know, don't get the AOPEN brand LCD monitors. I bought one 17" 2 years ago and one 19" a year ago, and both are not working anymore. One just shows a white screen , the other says there is a solid signal but the screen is just black.

I am trying to track down why I don't get any signal through, but the only explaination that I can get is that there was a power surge in my house that broke something on the monitor.

This is very very strange because I have 3 other LCDs in the house, and they've been around longer and were plugged into the same wall sockets as the AOPEN ones.
