I'm looking for some recommendations for a 17" laptop under $1000 (the cheaper, the better).

I've been looking at:

lenovo IdeaPad Y710-3132UF NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-core T2390(1.86GHz) 17.0" Wide XGA+ 3GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm Dual layer DVD Burner ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 - Retail

vs.

The weekly HP/Toshiba/Gateway deals they have at BB, Office Depot(Max), Staples, CC, etc..

The laptop is for a family friend whose only requirement is that it have a 17" screen, built-in webcam, and DVD player/burner.
