Form what I've read, yeah, it's a JRE thing.
I've asked over on SA too, and, I'm starting to think that I need to dial back the firmware, the JRE or both.

The board had IPMI firmware v1.05 and the remote console was working just fine and I was really really impressed (easily pleased i guess).
