Got my new cable, and everything works. Thanks for the sounding board assistance to help me figure this out.
Now I need an HDMI switcher since my AVR is maxed on it's HDMI ports.
Not sure I understand. The BenQ will work as a third monitor either on DVI or HDMI as long as I don't use the 25' HDMI cable. I made a bonehead mistake when I thought it wasn't working on the 6' HDMI. Didn't select the proper input via the monitor controls.
Just as a reference, this is the...
Hooked up my old Benq monitor via HDMI, and it didn't work with either my 25' or 6' HDMI cables. Hooked it up via DVI (2 DVI ports plus the mini-Displayport adapter to DVI), and the two original monitors plus the BenQ work. So it's definitely something to do with HDMI in the mix.
Getting more...
Rebooted with only HDMI attached accidentally when moving cables. See bios/UEFI screens on the plasma. Even saw the "this didn't shut down properly, start Windows normally?" screen. Soon as I answered that and tried to get into Windows, black screen and the TV indicates no input connection.
So...
I've got an early HIS 6950. I am running 6970 shaders, though. I did the edit to my original BIOS myself, but I suppose that could have broken it.
The HDMI port off the card. I took top DVI cable on the card physically and moved it to the Displayport adapter. Left the bottom DVI cable...
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit.
I see the TV in Catalyst, I just can't display to it.
Going to do some testing later with HDMI to another monitor instead of the TV to eliminate the long cable and the display itself. Just got to dig out another cable.
I've got a 6950 that I'm currently running two 1920x1200 monitors on (DVI). Not in eyefinity mode. I'm wanting to be able to output to my TV (Panasonic 1080p Plasma via HDMI) across the room via a 25' HDMI cable.
After reading the AMD site, it looked like to add the TV and go to three...
Hotmail (and MSN) now works with ActiveSync, which works at least as well as IMAP for me with it's push functionality. I use it on my Android phone.
My problem with Hotmail is that some things I subscribe to never make it to either my inbox or my junk folder. Newegg sales promotional stuff...
I'm not that concerned any more about being directed to a website for software/drivers. I can see where many would not ever do that, but I can't remember installing anything from the discs that come with PC stuff. I ALWAYS assume there's newer stuff on the manufacturer's website, so go there...
This is different than firing a cruise missile, launching artillery from miles away, or dropping rounds from thousands of feet over the battlefield in a manned plane how? All of those have the person who's pulling the trigger very detached.
This same argument probably could have been made...
Anybody know of a store selling SPDIF in brackets for motherboards? I've go a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R that has a 3 pin SPDIF in header, but I can't find a bracket for it outside of one on ebay with shipping that's nearly as expensive as the bracket. ($9+$7)
I looked at Newegg, etc. So far...
I bumped the ram voltage, although not all the way to 2.1v. I was going to work my way up. It still froze. I've still got some headroom if I can't figure it out other ways, and will probably up it some more next time I get a freeze.
Put the game back on my 26 inch monitor, froze 2 minutes...
