Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just wanted to pop back in post build and say thanks to everyone for the help. Really loving this computer so far. Build went fairly smooth for the most part, but thought I would throw out a few of my experiences to hopefully help some others that are thinking about a similar build.
Case...
I have had very good luck with their hdmi cables. Seem to be very good quality for the price.
Also have heard very good things about their wall mounts for tvs which are also priced very well.
Had a little bit of luck tonight. Was able to snag the last P67A-GD65 off the shelf, even though they said they were out. $292.25 w/ the 2500k after tax.
Can't wait to get this built.
Thanks for all the help Danny!
Well it is looking like the microcenter I am planning on going to is out of those MSI boards. Would any other boards be a good replacement? I would prefer not to compromise quality for a deal, so if it turns out ordering a motherboard online is the better option I will just pick up the 2500k for...
Just wanted to bump this thread up again. I updated the original post with what I have purchased so far and will be heading to Microcenter on Wednesday to get the CPU & Motherboard so I just wanted to make sure nothing had changed.
Think one of these motherboards is still the best option? Was...
1) Best Buy, Fry's, Microcenter
2) Best Buy
3) Fry's, Microcenter
4) Best Buy, Staples, OfficeMax
5) USA
Unfortunately in my area there isn't a Fry's or Microcenter, BestBuy is really it, but I grew up near them so they still come to mind and can go to them when I visit the folks.
Hi All,
Just got a G500 to replace a MX Revolution cause I was interested in giving a wired mouse a try as well as one that is geared towards gaming. I have really liked my MX Revolution the only real issues I have had with it is sometimes it isn't responsive enough which I imagine is due to it...
Not sure which Dymo you are looking into getting or how much you will be using it, but we actually use Dymo LabelWriter 400s at work for address labels and they seem pretty solid.
We have had ours for 5+ years and most of them get used daily for printing address labels, I would guess 20-50 (50...
Updated the original post with some purchases.
Still need Case/Video card and then will be trying to get Mobo/CPU from Microcenter in 2 weeks.
Not completely sold on the Case I originally linked and just came across this case: Fractal Design Define Mini Black Micro ATX in another persons...
Perfect thanks for the clarification.
Blah thought I had got the acronym right RST is for the raids we have at work. :)
Just to confirm with the case, Lian Li Lancool PC-K7B ATX Case I would need to buy the bay converter for the SSD?
Also, what (if any?) thermal compound are people using now...
Awesome, thanks for the feedback.
Just out of curiosity any suggestion on which would be better Z68 or P67? Tried to look up a bit about the differences and it seems the big ones are the onboard video option and the RST configuration for SSDs.
If I understand correctly, the benefit of...
Hello All,
Been a little while since I have done a build, but I have been getting that itch again. First a little trip down memory lane (Need to work on my cable management haha), my last build:
