WARF Charges Intel Corporation with Patent Infringement

I had a computer architecture course with Prof. Sohi, one of the professors mentioned in the lawsuit. He was probably the best professor I had. Fuck 'em Bucky!

Why are banana plugs prohibited in Europe?

I'm not too informed on this topic, but I doubt that when you shock yourself that you're a small enough load that you'd max out the source. V = IR. Twice the voltage = twice the current.

GF wants a Bose PC speaker system....

I look at it two ways. You can be right and get something better for the same money, or you can be happy because she's happy she got what she wanted. Pick one.

HT Omega Claro+ vs. Auzentech Prelude

I'm not too excited for the prelude since they are still using Creative drivers.

Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 and RSX-3

$100 is a steal for that. I upgraded my promedia satelites to RSX-4's, and they are much nicer than the original.

Any Core 2 board with 2 IDE??

That converts an SATA drive into IDE, the opposite of what the op needs.

If you hook speakers up to the integrated sound does it say anything?

Any BASIC 965/975 boards out there decent?

For what it's worth, I haven't had much luck with Intel's p965 board. It will only work with auto detecting memory speeds, which sets it at 10-15-15-31. Also changing the memory speed to anything other than 666MHz doesn't even do anything.

    Qfan question

Do you have to use rpm sensing fans for qfan to work on Asus motherboards, or will it automatically adjust the voltage that drives the fans without any rpm sensing? The Asus manuals aren't very clear on this. Thanks.

    Replacing Z5500 Satelitles

I replaced my klipsch 5.1 satelites with klipsh rsx-4 speakers and I'm very pleased with the results. I don't know if the logitech speakers send a full signal to the satelite speakers. If they do, you might want to avoid getting speakers that will overlap with the subwoofer's frequency...

Any Home Theatre Speaker users here?

I'd think the X-LS speakers will be better, but they aren't really the same type of speakers. RSX-3/4's are compact satelites while the X-LS speakers are bookshelves.

Klipsch ProMedia Ultra + Reference series speakers?

Well the RSX-5's are more sensitive, so they should be easier to drive... I didn't consider the RB-15s because they are too big for what I need, plus I don't think they are really intended for near field listening.
