    The lag is HORRIBLE. 3-30 second delay depending on location on my server, but then we should be thankful to at least be able to log in on patch day :)

    Wow or RAM?

    It's not that bad with a 512 stick in archimonde(high pop server).. I get occasional fps drops (just entering the area around the AH/Bank) but it's certainly not unplayable.

    I was pretty much like you, never really interested in MMORPGs, but everyone seemed to worship the game, so I took the plunge and bought it. I've got 2 lvl 30s now, and It's just doesn't.... tickle my fancy... The only reason I continue playing is I've put so much time into the game I can't...

    No. The physics, while pretty good, aren't that realistic, especially with the traction control on. Although with an HDTV it's pretty good for teaching you to look ahead. But it is all kinds more fun with the wheel :D

    Doom3 and HL2 are DX9 compatible, it doesn't mean you can't run the game on DX8 cards, it just won't be as pretty.
