    Anyone else less than impressed with PTM7950?

    I think the consensus was it will edge out good thermal pastes on a desktop due to the presence of the IHS but will do much better with a laptop with the direct die on the heatsink. It helped my laptop a lot.

    I vaguely remember my Haswell 4770K wouldn't do better than 4.2-4.3ghz. My Q6600 was stable near 3.4ghz from 2.4ghz. I think that was pretty good.

    Ended up picking up the Palit 5070TI Gamerock for $1050 all inclusive of tax. Thankful I can turn off the RGB from software. The cheaper $900 5070TI unfortunately went out of stock. Prices here are crazy. The next 5070TIs up were $1250. Now is a good time as any to shop for a 1440p monitor...

    Will you jump on 40xx Super Video cards or would you rather wait for 50xx series to come out?

    Serious question - Is there any point on grabbing anything higher than a 4070 Super if I have no plans to go above 1080p/144hz in the near future? The 6600XT is doing fine but chugs with some games even at a mix of medium/high settings. That's if I even find time to game, but that's another story.
