Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I really liked the left hand solution, but I couldn't make a real cost justification for it. The Day 1 price was very similar, but expansion was very costly. We're going to go FC MSA route.
That is definitely a route we've considered going. However, they would like (if possible) to have a response per person, indicating who they should contact now. (usually their manager)
That would require then a seperate AD account per user, no?
HR wants us to have autoresponses whenever we have an employee leave the organization. Up until now we've just removed the account and let it bounce back.
Most of the suggestions I've read regarding this talk about leaving the account open and setting an Out of Office response. Is...

Thanks for the writeup. It is definitely another push in the iSCSI direction. I am getting a demo from Lefthand today and probably going to be making a decision later in the week, will let you guys know how it goes.
If anyone has any other words of wisdom or experience, I'd...

The nice thing about the SCSI drives is that they are readily available and cheap. They may not be the latest and greatest in server storage technology, but they are still (and from what I see for the foreseeable future) readily available.
That is a very similar setup to what we...
I am looking at moving into a SAN environment for my company. Who has one? Who manages one? Who knows a ton about them?
Our current setup is localized storage on various servers. These are mostly 10K SCSI drives in RAID 0/1 or RAID 5. We also have a NAS that is a main file store that is...
We're going to be upgrading from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. The DB is actually really small, about 3.5GB, but it is a very poorly organized DB that tosses almost all data into a single table...
Hey everyone, I am purchasing a new DB server for a disk intensive/cpu heavy database. My main questions are with the storage controllers and RAID setup.
This is my current thought:
RAID 0/1 36GB 15K SAS - OS and programs
RAID 0/1 72GB 15K SAS - main data
RAID 10 72GB 15K SAS - trans...
I unfortunately am not an exchange guru either, but we're a smaller group, so I get to be the 'server and network' guru across the board.
I can see the purpose and point in having many storage groups, for smaller db size and distributed policies, it is something I'll look into, then if need...
Will keep you guys updated. Currently I am looking at a short term, mid term, and long term solution.
Short term is going to be tossing in a 72gig drive and expanding the array. Midterm will be adding something along the lines of GFI Mail Archive or Exchange@PAM to the organization (leaning...
Hey everyone. I have a bit of a complicated question. I have a backup tape from about a year ago that just has the IS store backed up from an exchange server. The original exchange server and AD are present still in the organization.
I want to do a full restoration of the IS, without...
I think our organizations simply have different philosophies regarding technology's role in the company. In my organization I am not only the solution provider but also the maintainer. If a user loses data, it is not their fault, its my fault. (usually) Creating systems where a users data is...
