    free land

LOL. I now own a square inch of land in Rhode Island, which means I own about 2% of the state ;) I also own land in Hawaii at "Oceanview Estates", but it ends up that it's not on the ocean or an estate, but a decrepid plot on a street named Oceanview. After you sign up with a specific state...

Two Free HambUrgers at White Castle

All the White Castle's in the Detroit area are really ghetto, but it still makes for a good quick "4 square inch" lunch.

    Upgrade to LCD on BF?

I am considering upgrading to an LCD with one the on BF deals. I'm concerned about quality however. I currently have a Samsung 19" 955DF, which I've had for about 4 years (and absolutely love). The only problems with it are that it's an 80 pound monster on my desk and it has a chip in the...

    Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu Thermal Sensor placement

Well, I ended up placing the sensor directly above the core and below the fan, where the copper is conductive, but it didn't seem to make the reading more accurate. Currently (idle) i'm getting 27.5 degrees from my Hardcano and 33 degrees from the computer measurement, which I'm actually pretty...

    Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu Thermal Sensor placement

I'm building my new comp and I'm having difficulty finding a place to attach the thermal sensor from my Hardcano 12 to my Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu (yes, I realize I should've spend the extra bucks to get the all-copper version) so that I can get the best reading of my Core temp. The best that I can...

Warm?: Koss Portapro headphones $35 shipped (no rebates)

Bought these about a year or two ago. They still sound just as good as when I first got them. Highly recommended.

Free satellite imagery of the entire earth (zoomed also): Nasa World Wind Proggie

It's gonna be a while before the Landsat 7 servers come online again. They have to propose a plan for a new server, which is going to be costly, so it could be months. You can read more about it in their forums: http://learn.arc.nasa.gov/worldwind/forums/

Free satellite imagery of the entire earth (zoomed also): Nasa World Wind Proggie

Pretty cool. I've been looking for something like this for a while; it's a lot better than paying people to send you the same images. The server for landsat 7 pics is down right now (supposed to be up Oct. 5, 2004), but you can at least test it out using the USGS 1m pics (black and white). It's...

Warning: To Whoever Signed Up For Free Maxim/stuff Mags!

Yep, I got that postcard too. I don't really care, and my fiance just laughs at me getting that stuff the mail anyway. I don't really mind, considering my label says I have a subscription to Stuff until August 2008

    Request: Deal on Sirius

Bad news, but you just missed a good deal for your choice of 3 radios (with a home or car kit) + 6 months service for 49.99. It ended Sep. 30, but if you check siriusbackstage.com they might post a similar deal in the future (they have previously).

Time to stock up on Cheap Printer paper? 10K for 40 bucks

Kinda lukewarm. It's a good price, but for 20 reams I've seen much cheaper.

Get paid $5 for online surveys

Yes, they actually do pay. In fact they pay you before you even do the survey (they do keep track of how many surveys that you don't complete however and will cancel your account if you're cashing too many checks without giving your opinion.) It's nice to come home from college and have 4 or 5...

HOT Airfare from UK to Europe - 99 pence

Ryanair, a discount airline, is selling 1 million seats from London-Stansted, Glasgow-Prestwick, and Dublin airports from 99 pence one way (about $1.84 US). A great deal for travellers or those who live "across the pond". http://www.ryanair.com

Symantec Norton Professional 2004 Antivirus FREE w/ free shipping

I used to only use Norton for AV (probably about 5 years), but over time I found that it is a huge resource hog. After I reformatted, I installed AVG Free and I could be happier. It's fast and it actually does catch stuff that Norton doesn't (even Active X viruses in your temporary internet files).
