Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have heard of port forwarding, but am not sure how to proceed. None of the apps or programs mentioned port forwarding, but it makes sense. Is this something I need change in my router config? Which ports need to be forwarded?
I am able to get my Android phone, my iPad, and my laptop to wake my desktop computer as long as I am home within my home network. I have tried a few apps and software to allow wake on WAN (wake my laptop using an internet connection from outside my home network), but none will work. All...
I just moved to an appt that only has wireless. What do i need to connect my desktop? My ipad is veeeery slow, so need something (for my desktop) that will receive or boost a weak signal.
I have a video card and a hardware raid card with one empty slot between them. I would like to find a PCI card cooler that will take the heat from the two cards and exhaust it out the end of the card. Anyone know of such a thing?
I was able to get this to work. However, I used arcHTTP (browser) to set pass-through, then rebooted. Now, during post, the bios raid disk IS FOUND. Then in the browser again, I am able to set RAID 0 and reboot. Still have a few questions:
1) Is this normal? That is, having to set...
I was able to get pass-through to work, but not raid set. Here is the message I sent to Areca tech support.
I am not able to see my raid set in Windows. Here is what I have done (brand new 1882ix-12):
Install card and 2 HDD's
Add SCSIPORT via Device Manager.
Boot into McBios and set...
I just got a 1882ix-12 and just set it up. the card is recognized during post and it sees my two drives. I would like to set the drives up as just regular drives. I tried to use pass-through, but the drives are not recognized after Win7-64 boots up. I suspect I have not set the pass-through...
I would like to get a loaner card of each (with LSI CacheCade and 4GB of mem for the Areca) and do some exhastive testing. After that, I would return the cards, then buy the one that performs the best.
Which card (1882i or 9265) would work better for Raid 5 used for video editing large 15-20GB files?
The other option would be to use Raid 3, which means only the Areca supports that raid level.
