    Raid Questions

Data protection is the #1 priority. Everyone has different 'levels' of protection requirements. Fortunately for me, the most important to back up is those irreplaceable pictures of the kids growing up, which doesn't require much space ~6gb. Atleast it is not a hard to manage +100gb. For...

    Raid Questions

I am glad i asked for everyone opinions, it looks as I would have been disappointed with raid as this would not be the solution to my problem. Thanks everybody.

    Raid Questions

I know raid is a popular alterernative storage method, but I have simple questions that seem like it should be trivial to those in the know . . . . When mirroring, if the source drive goes corrupt, and a backup is created of the source drive, is data lost on the destination drive? In the...

    OSX & XPPRO & Ubuntu

I would like to get a portable hard drive that can transfer files between these OS's (OSX & XPPRO & Ubuntu). Does anybody know enough about the OS/Filesystems to make a recommendation? Can it be done? If so, which File system do I need to format the portable drive to?

Suggestions for good registry cleaners and optimizers

easy cleaner is one I tried and it seems to be good. more power to you on the optimizer part, I don't trust them/they don't usually have anything to offer. ie speed menu delays or remove shortcut arrows

ever rip an mp3 and name it wrong?

I used EAC - I was just hoping for the lazy way out. past experience: I bought TransSiberian Orchestra CD full of christmas songs, and ripped with EAC, well tried to anyway. The disc wasn't on freedb so I typed it in manually all 23 tracks and tags. Well, then I changed one setting and...

ever rip an mp3 and name it wrong?

Have you ever ripped your cd collection only to find out that you named it wrong? I have about 2 cd's worth of songs that ended up this way. Is there anything out there that will ID these files and update the filename and/or tags? I really don't want to have to do it manually.
