    Linux FS for server

    reiserfs is pretty quick, faster than ext2/3 esp for lots of small files. jfs and xfs are good for very large files but not small ones. i would stick with reiser, been using it for a while 2~ years not one plroblem so far

    yeh i forgot to mention that you cant install grub from the chroot-shell. i think you have to boot from a floppy disk, but you might be able to do it with the live cd or the stage x cd

    when i set up raid in gentoo i had to setup the raid info in my /etc/raidtab (setting the partition types and raid configuration so the system knows how to put your 2 diff drives together) then i had to make the filesystem with mkraid i think then mk2fs or mkreiserfs on it then create the mount...
