thanks. some googleing also seemed to hint it might be a grounding issue, but did not provide any solutions. i know there was what appeared to be a grounding wire secured to the metal hinge mount, but it appeared to be ok.

it was the convertor dongle..borrowed a friends and it worked fine. couldent find one locally, so i picked up a modulater that accepts svid in, and am funning a normal 4 pin svid cable from it to the inverter.
ive tried 3 different rca cables, so i guess its the adapter. ill have to check around town today and see whats available.
the gf2 had svid in and out, 4 pin out, 7 pin in, so i figured the 7 pin adapter i was using for in with the gf2 card would be good for the 7 pin out with the ati...oh...
just replaced my old gf2 with a 9500pro, fresh format etc....go to use tv out and its in black and white. check all the settings, its in the right format, tried several cables, regular and omega drivers...nada....tv out is black and white....im pullin hair out trying to get it to work...
ive got an 9500 pro comin from ebay...replacing my old gf2 card, plan to use the omega drivers, add some homemade ram sinks, maby a different homemade cooler, volt mod if i realy brave, and oc the bejebus out of it. figure it should be as good as the current 9600xt at half the cost.
