I've got the same motherboard and the same issue - in fact when using the onboard video my computer ends up locking up. I don't know of a fix other than to not use my SB Live :(

I've tried both installing the drivers before DX9, as well as reinstalling the drivers after the DX9 install, and neither works - DXDIAG still reports my audio being stuck in 'emulated' mode :(
Anything else you can think of that I can try out to fix this problem?

I'm using the latest NForce drivers, and have tried reinstalling them after the DX9 upgrade, and still the problem persists.
