Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I am currently using an "off the shelf" HP Elite 7000 system. i7 processor, 4gb memory, etc. If I read it right, it looks like the power supply is a 425 or 450 watt model. I would like to upgrade my current video card (9600GT) to an nVidia 460, but I am concerned about the power supply not...
I was more single minded back in the day, and went at UD as [H]ard as I could. I did manage to finish in the number 1 position for the [H] team, for whatever that is worth. ;)
After UD shut down, I went pretty [H]ard at F@H, but my career was cut short by the shut down of my work farm. But...
Congrats Team 33!
I have not contributed much recently, but I am proud to have made some contribution towards this goal.
I wish you all the best on your journey towards 2 billion!

No, it had nothing to do with the Chimp Challenge thread. It was purely a matter of the tight-ass way they regulate internet access where I am. Where they measure it in terms of hours, rather than actual consumption. It was either stop, or call down the thunder....and there is too much at...
About 20. Mostly single core, but there was 1 quad Xeon, and three or four dual cores running SMP clients. It was when I added those that the hours kind of rose to the point of notice. I am not sure off the top of my head why that would be any different, but apparently, it was.
Well, it has been a good run. But as of yesterday, my work farm is down for the count.
It wasn't that the boss had anything against running Folding on a few stations, but because of the anal way that internet usage is tracked where I work, the agents were making it appear that I had been...
No worries.
Anyone who has been around for a while, knows when things get like this, I just don't play into it. As for how I fold, I do what I can, the way that I choose. I always have. I don't even have a problem with someone who does not care for that philosophy. But I will not be...
For those that posted congrats on the milestone, I appreciate it.
For those that had a different idea, I would point you to the label next to the name. 6.9 years around here. I have seen it all come and go, and I have heard it said any way you can say it.
Bottom line, things like this...
I already put it in the correct thread, but I think this one deserved singular mention as well. :D
Now over the million mark in two projects. Of course, one of them is now defunct, but as long as the score still shows on [H]ardFolding, I will display it proudly!
It took just a little over...
Hell, I would buy it myself if it were a run of the mill Quad Core. But as it is a Xeon, those puppies run pretty expensive, and the wife would have my A$$! ;)
It is kind of sad that I have over 20 computers folding, and this one SMP unit (as opposed to all the single core units), equals or bests the lot of them, combined! I have not even put a 2nd instance of the SMP client on it yet, so it could still go higher still! Amazing.
If you are "jonzin" for a picture of the computer, you would find it boring.
It is an off the shelf, HP Workstation-class computer. This thing is like a server in a mid-tower case. There is an empty socket, where a 2nd quad core Xeon could be installed, but as this is a work machine, I...
