Does that $4,500 price tag come with a free reach around? They don't even have the decency to thoroughly test the thing before they bend you over a barrel.
EPROMs are known to have bitrot, especially if unpowered for 25 years. You'd be buying a very expensive brick and no way to recover it, unless someone could dump the EPROM from another unobtanium prototype. Least it has tantalums, so they'll explode if they went bad, rather than leak all over the place.
