We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

My company, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to begin allowing users to hook up Windows Mobile devices to our network. While we will officially not support it, I have been asked to create a how-to/white paper type of document that will explain to them how to connect to our system. We are getting demos of different devices so I will be able to get some hands on experience. Seeing as I am totally unfamiliar with Windows Mobile and have used only a Treo 650 for the last two years or so, I have a few questions.

1. Exactly how many versions of Win Mobile are out there? Currently it seems that the bulk of devices are using 5.0 or 2003. Is this correct?

2. 2003 seems to have several different versions like Pocket PC edition, Smartphone edition, etc... Are the inner workings of these different in a way that would necessitate a different walk through for each edition?

3. Is it possible, through some kind of software, to get screenshots of the screens of these devices? This would be VERY valuable, as I am sure you will understand.

Thanks everyone.

1. There are basically WM5 and 2003. I have the Treo 700w which runs WM5 PPC edition. the Moto Q runs the WM5 Smartphone edition.

2. PPC is the full blown version and its usually supported by touchscreen. Smartphone is the stripped down version for very light pda functions, basically a phone first and pda second.

3. you can get screen shots by doing some googling. hope this helps.
