Troubleshooting and providing driver feedback:

No issues with this driver so far, but I'm still playing an older game (Jedi Survivor).

Same as the hotfix driver. Still seems bugged for Edge with hardware acceleration on (flickering), but Chrome seems fine.

I'd just installed the 616.86 hotfix driver, rebooted and this popped up. Installed and all good so far.

new DLL's out now too: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/drivers/
v310.9.1

I need to try this. I've got some flickering on YouTube videos that I can't fix. Nothing major, just annoying.

You can either turn off hardware acceleration or set Angle to D3D11 WARP. It forces your CPU to do browser rendering in Chromium browsers but should stop the black screens. Or you could use non-chromium browsers - Firefox or Zen browser for instance.

What sites have this issue? I upgraded both my desktop and laptop but haven't encountered it yet, and I run Edge.

On Edge I get black screens when trying to log into paypal.com website. It goes away with either hardware acceleration turned off or edge://flags ANGLE backend set to D3D11 WARP.

Huh. I logged in, no issues. Using Edge on Win 11 with 626.92 installed. WTF?

Do you have VRR enabled on a HDMI 2.1+ display?
Oh is it HDMI only? I have VRR on, but on DP 1.4 (PG32UCDP).

Edit: One other thing I've done is disable multi-plane overlay, to fix VRR flicker from hardware accelerated apps in Windows. It doesn't disable acceleration entirely from my understanding, just the direct access. I did that quite awhile ago since various plugins in Nuendo caused issues. "reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm" /v OverlayTestMode /t REG_DWORD /d 5 /f" is how you disable it.

Second edit: Disabling MPO does sound like it should fix it. Also apparently changing your output bit depth to 10-bit might fix it? No idea why, but no real reason not to if your display supports it.

I've tried the hardware acceleration thing but it makes it look choppy. It's not too terrible. It's only when I move the cursor over the progress bar, it'll flicker. It's weird but not anything I can't live with. Maybe I'll try Firefox. I haven't used it in eons lol
