For those with large and heavy GPUs, do you use an anti-sag bracket?

I have an XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT OC that is 360 mm in length and heavy. It came with an anti-sag bracket. I have not installed it but wondering if I should.

By the way, how much "lift" should you apply to the GPU? Just enough to support the GPU or a little more?
 
Yep. My 4090 came with one. Without one, it feels like the GPU will break the PCIe slot.
 
My case already comes with one so might as well use it.

For me just enough to support it from sagging, maybe a just a tiny bit more. Sometimes the motherboard pcie slots don't align perfectly perpendicular with the pcie card mounting in the case so forcing the card to be visually level actually ends up flexing card pcb in the slot upwards.

I wouldn't call it a bracket, but I'm using the little prop/screwdriver thing that came with my ROG Astral 5090. My case (Fractal North) has a mesh panel right below the vid card, so it's kinda wedged in there and doesn't really move. Why in the hell Asus didn't include a proper bracket with a ROG Astral I don't understand. Probably should have ordered a bracket, but it didn't occur to me that a goddamned ROG Astral wouldn't include one after the much cheaper Gigabyte Gaming 5090 I had briefly (died after 20 minutes, got returned to the retailer) came with one. Then I get the card, put everything together, wedge the screwdriver in there and, hey, it's really stuck pretty good so I think it's fine.
 
ive only seen gpus come with kick stands, like you got, never seen one with a bracket

Gigabyte one was a bit nicer than that. It screwed onto the GPU and had a plastic foot. I'm not sure what the difference is between a bracket and a kickstand, I just know my Asus was kinda lame in that department. It works for me, but that's because of my case not because Asus did a good job.
 
kickstands/braces just go under the card, brackets attach to the case via the pcie slots. both achieve the same goal.

New cards are way too heavy to not have one at this point. Wasn't much of an issue years ago when cards were comparatively small, but I would consider it a requirement now.

It's only a 3090 FE but the little shelf that comes with the Thermaltake Core P5 definitely has some sag and I haven't added the dual side waterblock. I used one of the kid's art projects to hold it up. It could go a little more but it's doing it's thing.

4090 here, and yup, I do. I actually had to modify the included one to fit with my mobo. Luckily I work with a bunch of engineers (with metal-cutting tools I lack) who were happy to help. I looked at some stands and whatnot initially, but there wasn't a really good place to brace them without making me nervous about them ending up in a fan. Pretty sure there are 3rd party bracket bracers now, though.
 
Been using one since my 2080Ti that I bought and also used the same one on my 3090. My 4090 came with one, as did my 5090, which I am using now as well.

The big and heavy ones, yeah. But once you get a GPU support bracket, there's no reason to not use it, anymore.
