Did you post this before the news of the price hike for gamepass hit? Ultimate is now $30 a month 0.0
Gamepass was an unreal deal before, and it was solid even after the many price hikes, but this most recent one puts it to the point that I don't think I'll keep using it
I've never used Ultimate. I only have the PC version. Which did also get hiked significantly (and yes, that post was before I heard about it), percentage wise (~50% more, on top of the last hike they did). Although that's a large percentage hike, the dollar amount is still okay for me. 16$ a month for the releases they've had on it lately is okay. 20$ and up, I would probably start considering cancellation.
Are they changing the terms of the PC version? I saw that EA and Ubisoft are now only in Ultimate, so are they yoinking it from the PC subscription?
Overall, I never considered 10$ a month for how much value Gamepass was providing me to be completely realistic, in all honesty. Even GameFly, a simple mail rental service, iirc charged more than that with a limit of 2 games at a time. Gamepass provides a large catalog (with many AAA titles), save synchronization, download infrastructure, etc. As long as they reinvest the price hikes into acquiring more and more good titles to put on the platform, I'm kind of okay with it. But I think 30$/month is going to be an incredibly hard sell. That's essentially half the price of a AAA game on PC, on release, and as much as possible multiple on sale AAA games. At that point, the best option becomes just waiting for sales.16/mo is still okay for me, but it's starting to get up there into unreasonable territory.
