Everyone in that NPU asic space will imagine try to get bought by some of those big players as your future competition is not necessarily being some alternative to how NVIDIA-AMD-Google-Amazon-Apple do things, they will do all that but with the giant infracstructure and superior tech in the rest of the stack and giant money-supply chain capacity over you.

so can AMD repurpose Xilinx for this ??

FPGA is the kinda the antithesis of what Taalas is/does and the AI/datacenter networking part of Xilinx isn't what Taalas does either. Xilinx really is the AMD version of/answer to Tegra/Mellanox for Nvidia. Taalas the equivalent of Nvidia's partnership/licensing with Groq. And funnily enough Groq, not Taalas, is more inline of what you're thinking of with that (in that Xilinx/FPGA is programmable as is Groq, while Taalas is more baked in/monolithic).

For now it's remaining its own name/thing putting its chips into AMD's premade server racks.

Both will just get folded under the AMD name/umbrella eventually IMO.
