Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands

Thanks for the heads up

Uplay store sucks. I'm trying to redeem it by clicking OK but nothing happens lol. Same thing happened for GR but I found some other way to get to the store page and it worked by clicking continue. At least I was able to redeem GR, barely put any time in Wildlands so a free DLC I probably won't even play isn't a big loss I guess...

Hey guys. Is this good game ? Is any demo to play?

Hmm, Depends on everyone's definition of "good" that they look for in a game.

I loved the original games as they peeled off of Rainbow 6 still giving tactical play while opening it up a bit more. Wildlands is not super tactical specifically as you dont need pre round briefings to plot a bunch of stuff and waypoint it out. However you can still swap loadouts before missions, pre scout the area if you wish to figure out how YOU want to approach it. As well as set up some things with friends to coordinate and inject some of that tactical play into it.

The story was not great but it was overall enjoyable. Graphics were good, game ran well for me. Flight controls were a bit stupid but the rest was fun and I am happy with my purchase. Played through it with a friend and we spent a lot of extra time going around to tough areas and clearing bases with restrictions on ourselves to make things interesting and fun. Parachute challenges and other fun activities.

The AI left a bit to be desired both friendly and opposing but they were serviceable for what it was.
The multiplayer mode they added a year or so in was crap and died within a month lol.

In my opinion it was a good game and I more than got my monies worth out of it and am happy with my purchase. I did not buy the follow up game which while it does looks better after a lot of updates and work over the years I'm passed caring at this point.

Their coming battle royal looks meh but I'll give it a shot.

Trial = free to try, so yes. In Ubisoft connect it says "Play the demo" under the purchase button.

You're welcome, I bought through Steam so I dont check the Ubi store much. If it is a trial I would assume you can play a small portion of the game to test it out. Worth a shot if it lets you do it to get a feel for it.

Hi. I have low fps in Wildlands on 1440P on Rtx 3090 and 10850K. All ultra and on first mission i have between 65-85fps. Is any way to increase that low fps? Game from 2017 and running worst than Watch Dogs Legion new ,on rtx 3090.

I downloaded Trial but UBI Servers was disconnecting me from demo after 1-2 minute with some message about connect issues. Always. So i bought full game ( good promotion , real cheap) and its fine. :) Its similiar to Division 2 but semi good ,ok :)

Wildlands is basically nothing like the Division 2. They are both third person for walking around and have modern day firearms in them. That's about it as far as similarities go. The Division 2 is a looter shooter with gear levels and bullet sponge enemies. Ghost Recon is an open world tactical shooter with first person shooting mechanics and third person cameras for exploration and world traversal. The experiences could not be more different.

There are some visual similarities, but that's really it.

This might be necro, but I just started playing Wildlands. I agree it's nothing like The Division 1/2, but I'm okay with that so far. Although I like The Division's cover system...

Mostly just getting around to my "filthy casual" gamer backlog, and this is what I chose on my Xbone.

The thread in general wasn't is exciting, #SorryNotSorry for posting in the PC thread

Its one of those games thats up there but keeps getting bumped. I almost fired it up and then Baldurs Gate 3 is eating my lunch.

Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint are great games. Breakpoint was a shitshow at launch but after all the patches, fixes, changes and DLC, it's a solid game.

I want more.

I liked the first one, didn't really get into the second, but that's good to hear. I'll have to give it another whirl :)

Ever since ubi shut down the servers the game has been acting weird for me. For example connect now says I don't own the DLCs. (I do I bought and played through both) But when I start the game the DLC content is still there and I can play it. But that doesn't make me completely confident as IDK what would happen if I ever tried to reinstall the game ?!

The good news is, you can always get it via alternative means. Of course that shouldn't even be on the table for someone who paid for the game but there is a reason Ubisoft is starting to crash.

Bummer, I don't feel like redownloading it. Finally uninstalled it earlier this year for space.

Oh nice, the Predator mission returns too,I could never beat that "ugly motherfucker."
It's been a long time since I fought it, but I remember using an LMG to keep fire on it for longer while reloading less often. I know you have to avoid certain attacks, etc. It's a long fight that you have to be careful doing but its not super hard once you have a strategy. I basically used one specific tree for cover as I recall.

Same... Breakpoint is on a 95% off sale as well. I grabbed both!

I got Breakpoint despite hating Wildlands because people said it was improved after many, many patches (but still worse than Wildlands to most). Figured I'd give it a try as not many shooters come out these days. Think I paid $4.50 or so on Ubisoft last year. Will probably never play it going by the rate of games that pile up for me. :ROFLMAO:

This is the better deal of course and it is on Steam. I know it requires Ubisoft Connect login, but Connect is laggy and login resets every other time I load it up so I'd prefer getting Ubisoft things on Steam.

I've played both during free weekend periods a couple times each - Breakpoint might be the 'technically' better game but Wildlands feels more fun/better/real - Breakpoint felt very boring with the world environment/game/missions IMO

Drops free content but still cant fix the issue with Forever Loading on the Splash Screen... :(

The Motherland expansion is really the way Breakpoint should have always been. It's not quite as populated as Bolivia in Wildlands, but more populated than the base game with active rebels fighting the Russians and the Wolves allied with them.

I attempted Wildlands after getting it for free during another Ubisoft giveaway. I found Breakpoint more of my style after all of the patching over WL. Its probably due to how the recon & attack drones work in BP. I'm even a bigger fan of Div1 over 2 due to specific tech tree options.

If they could combine the improved tactical elements of BP with everything else in WL they'd have a perfect game.
After bouncing back and forth between both games for years, it would be nice to have the best of both worlds.

Is that free? Seems like there is some DLC but it is $10+ to buy.

The Year 1 Pass includes the Siren's Call mission, 2 adventures continuing the main story, and the Special Operations Forces Pack.

Are the two adventures worth getting? Looks like a lot of campaign missions were added.

Tried the predator mission for a bit last night with just 2 of us. We were extremely close to beating it but my friend got too tired. Probably going to try again tonight.
