Actually the headlines would be trying to justify it desperately. They think if GTA VI costs $100 or whatever, that allows other developers to also raise prices, and this is supposed to save the games industry. What they forget is that other games aren't GTA, if they charge more for an already unpopular game it will flop even harder. In fact I'm convinced that Forspoken flopped as hard as it did because they charged €80.00 for the base game. It would still have flopped at a regular price, but this price point made sure it was a total failure.

The only way to save the gaming industry is to make better games that players actually want and enjoy. Stop pandering to activists who have never played any real game in their lives and start pandering to the actual audience like you used to before 2014.

Dan Houser, the lead writer for the series, was forced out in 2020. Then there was the whole thing with the media trying to get the video game industry to have its "MeToo" moment by going after Rockstar and Blizzard. And the "offensive" jokes about trannies being removed from the 3-VC-SA trilogy demasters and the gen 9 release of GTAV.

The game is supposed to be offensive. So trans jokes are a line too far but running a hooker over splattering her all across the road to get your money back is just part of the game.

Best part of 5 was Steven ogg being Steven ogg. I want that feel again from 6.

If you leave this will become another echo chamber for them. No one will question why they are triggered by a color or why it maters so much who sleeps with who, or why a female character in a game makes them so mad. I play a FPS tactical shooter, hell I am a clan member. Every FPS tactical shooter game has a majority of sexes, racists, haters and they feel like they need to self assure their believes. Most of the time I feel like I am in the only one that "likes the color purple" or doesn't have a problem with female main characters or doesn't care about races, or thinks "killing Nazis in Wolfenstine 2" is not woke. My current group had a black guy, and 2 female members and 1 guy that would push back on this "typical FPS tactical shooter" mindset when I joined. So I thought I found a home, at the least I would not be hearing how the <insert non-white race> is keeping them down. The 3 non-white male skills to be very high in the game (this explained why they got membership). The one would bark command that everyone would follow, it really added to the tactical part of the FPS and stacked our W's we even kicked a member for harassment (the jokes were still there but mild, I can only guess what was said to cross the line). But the rotten core was still there so we lost one female, the guy that would talk back and the black guy. Our last female member never plays anymore. Guess who is left.... I could leave but the next group is going to be the same. That being said I noticed one member would always play the female character (fun guy to talk to and very good player). I asked (not with the rest of the group there) he said smaller hit box. BUT Then we played a golf video game and again his character was female. I asked when in the group, he said he "would rather look at a chicks ass". What a perfectly acceptable answer for the clan. I am not sure he was being truthful. I was not going to press in front of members. By the 4th hole I did not even notice (I play the same golf game with my wife who uses a female avatar). I still like the movie the Matrix (is that woke?).

My wife and daughter's steam names are not feminine because of the toxic gamers. My name used to be just Caffeine, I would get harassed by people thinking I was a woman. One time, after explaining I was a man for the 40th time, I asked why he thought I was a woman. He told me it was a British thing where Caffeine sounds like Kathrine. SO I added the man to my name, instant end of the harassment.
 
So now we've gone from GTA6 to pride flags to trump to explaining the need for pronouns in our usernames.

Have we soapboxed a video game thread lately?
 
Anyone know when PC version will be out? Going to sail the high seas for this one. Hopefully a repack within a week of release.

I was just asking him not to leave. Sorry if my life experience has triggered you. Not sure how long you have been on the internet but I have been a long long time, before twitter. Chat rooms were rough. I am just telling you what I was told and what fixed the issue. He said something about rhyme schemes and gave me examples again this is one guy this was long long ago. I wanna say like 30 years ago. (Based on what I was watching on OTA TV at the time)
Check out a women's game group on steam most profiles are set to private. I am sure that some sort of statistical anomaly.

Nothing official, probably 6-12 months. The GTA+ thing is amusing, pushing subscriptions for online benefits. Maybe they will have learned from RDR2's gated content that could be bypassed with real money. In GTA5 its mostly fomo though Rockstar took out original cars to put them in their sub service unless you already owned those cars with their online character.

$80-100 is expected pricing.
