Modern Warfare 4 centers around a rapidly escalating global conflict on the Korean Peninsula, where a full-scale invasion of South Korea threatens to destabilize the world...Infinity Ward says the game will deliver a more grounded and authentic tone, with the story focused on political tension, covert operations, and international warfare

The campaign follows multiple perspectives throughout the conflict, including Private Park, a young Korean soldier thrust into combat for the first time...meanwhile, longtime franchise icon Captain Price returns in a very different role...rather than operating alongside Task Force 141, Price forms a rogue alliance and works outside official channels as the crisis spirals toward global war

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2

COD: MW4's single player campaign sounds better than what we got in BF6. That being said, I didn't buy BF6 for the campaign.

No bullet bloom. Sign me the fuck up. Until the streamers and esport divas inevitably bitch about it and it's brought back.

I think I am good with BF6 for my mainstream shooter. I trust EA/BF6 more to keep it a military themed game even if some crappy things are being released. I have little to zero faith in Activision, it will be full of the most shameful micro transactions. DICE also use real gun and vehicle models, which I care about. CoD games have long since abandoned using real weapons or vehicles.

Bit disappointed about '83 being a big flop because I was looking to get that as an alternate slightly more realistic game.

I haven't been following it very closely but I enjoyed RO 1 and 2 a ton. '83 isn't out yet and it's already a flop?

In Early Access. Peaked at 813 players on release, 24 hour peak was 9 players, currently 2 playing. A mainstream multiplayer game might bounce back but a niche multiplayer game with such a low initial count is never going to recover. Reception was poor, player count is too small to be viable. Even if it becomes amazing I think no one will buy because the count is so low. I don't usually care about player count much for single player games but for a multiplayer game, this was more or less DoA. Shame.

Modern Warfare 4 is built with a renewed focus on the PC community, with Infinity Ward and Beenox partnering to give players more ways to tune performance, visual fidelity, responsiveness, and customization on PC.:

-For players who want to push visual fidelity, high-end PC options include DLSS 4.5 support, expanded real-time ray tracing across Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ, improved performance across ray-traced reflections, ambient occlusion, shadows, and volumetrics, and higher-fidelity VFX and volumetric settings

-Modern Warfare 4 is built natively for current-generation consoles and PC, enabling greater scale, density, responsiveness, and consistency across every mode...Modern Warfare 4 will launch on XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2...it will not be available on PlayStation 4 or XBOX One

Not to be confused with call of duty 4 modern warfare…..

It’s bad enough it is recycled slop but you aren’t doing yourself any favors with the game name choices.

Well this is going to be Call of Duty 23 not Call of Duty 4. I don't see the confusion. The original Modern Warfare series stopped at 3 and used Arabic numerals. The new one used Roman up until this one since there was never a Modern Warfare 4 before.

I do hope this is sarcasm and not being pedantic. If not, you’ll probably pre order this lol

Jokes aside there’s no way around it, the titles and the games are getting stale, and have been for a decade.

I'm interested to see how this turns out. They're one of the few games that still do their own engine, and even fewer doing their own engine and going for top end graphics.

At least they sometimes try for high end graphics, hopefully they are this time, and it's supposed to be a brand new engine.

I just started playing CoD: MW (2019) this past weekend after never playing one since CoD 4: MW (2007) - I don't like how very strict/liner it is, or still is, or whatever. I know it's a linear based shooter, fine with that. And I don't need it to be an open world game at all. But if there's a part of the map you leave open, and don't block off with an object or even invisible wall - I should be able to take cover there (especially when in a firefight) without having 3 seconds to get back in the map/zone before you kill me. Specifically the part near the start with the terrorists in the town square in London where you first meet up with Price, is where I ran into this. Just seems/feels like poor design overall.

What annoyed me the most about COD campaigns in the past is infinitely respawning enemies.

I probably won't buy or play it though. I'm just interested in how the tech turns out. Maybe I'll try the BR or Extraction modes if they're free.

I don't mind that TBH because by the time I notice "hey this is an awful lot of guys that keep spawning" it reminds me "oh right I should be advancing that's why" 😅

I just saw an article about how they are reducing the cost of GP and not releasing cod games on release day, instead waiting a year. I haven’t looked into how much they reduced it, but that is what happened.
They decreased Ultimate by $7 after increasing it $10 last year. PC was decreased $2.50 after being increased $4.50 last year.

I don't even know what DMZ is. My first Call of Duty game is Call of Duty: Warzone and I started playing just a few weeks ago. Been playing Battlefield games since Battlefield: Bad Company 2 up until Battlefield V (my last one).
