I still LOVE the Thief series. How old do we need to go?

Thief was one of the 1st I did, I did all of them all the way through except 4, which I got bored with even though it was the best visual today.
I waited years for 4, I just got bored with it, and never finished it.
Does anyone else feel like it was a great game?

The Metal Age was amazing and the best one; there were some great mods and maps released for it as well. 1 was awesome. 3 was ok (Shalebridge Cradle was pretty incredible but the maps being chunked into tiny zones was annoying). Never played 4.

I tried playing 2014, but the sound was broken. There is a mod for Deadly Shadows that tries to stitch the levels together. Still annoying considering it seems they were trying to make it open world.

Not just "great".T1+T2 are considered 10/10 masterpieces by many who played them back in the 90s. Looking Glass Studios was highly influential on other game developers at the time.
Just pulled up their wiki page and not surprised at all to see the sentence "Looking Glass Studios has been called one of the most important development studios in the history of video games."

Ultima Underworld supposedly inspired Carmack when he developed the engine for Catacomb 3-D according to Masters of Doom, which evolved into the Wolfenstein 3D engine.
