I feel that… been she king Steam daily for the last few weeks for my son’s birthday… nothing. Good luck bump!
 
As a (mostly happy) LCD model owner, I'll advise to pony up the few extra bucks for the oled model which you can find refurb every major sale season. LCD is fine but there is enough backlight bleed and the difference in battery life is sufficient to warrant the $100 premium.

My sons the one saving up for it and after a few weeks of looking without luck he’s kind of giving up on finding one lol
 
I know it doesn't exactly help you but I gave up on getting a Deck and got an Asus Ally when most retailers had them on sale for 499. I don't regret it and currently Valve is working on perfecting the steamOS for the Ally if you want to go that route.

I think he’s going to switch gears to a Logitech g cloud. He will use cloud and pc streaming with it. Least that’s the latest plan
