Asha Sharma has to defeat Satya Nadella to save Xbox

Meanwhile, Microsoft is trying to enshitify Xbox gaming, in order to charge you money to unshitify. All that Xbox certification for PC is just another method of enshitification. The reality is that Microsoft needs a miracle for any of this to work, like Gabe Newell dying and Steam being sold to Microsoft. The best thing Microsoft could do at this point is embrace PC gaming FULLY. No half measures and certifications. Just turn Xbox into a customized Windows PC. At the same time just allow Xbox games to run on Windows. No certification crap. You don't need Microsoft to hold your hand to see if a game will run. Listing System Requirements does the job just fine. What's the worst thing that happens? Someone has to upgrade their PC?
THIS. I would love for Microsoft to release some special type of XBOX VM for Windows and run xbox games. I would pay $500 for something like that!

Ideally, it should be free. Microsoft doesn't like to leverage their ecosystem like Apple does. Imagine running iOS apps and paying $500 to do so on MacOS?

Free is awesome, $500 is waaaay to fucking much, but something like $100? I'd be down for that.

They got those amazing VMs to run original Xbox and X360 games on 8th-gen and 9th-gen Xboxes, but refuse to release that shit for PC. Makes no damn sense.

there is licensing involved for some games. Microsoft has an agreement to run old games in xbox vm. so probably unlikely that they will release the xbox vm for public use

maybe they could license the helix box as a whole to OEMs, especially for markets where they are reluctant to sell xbox as of now

You would, but for most people this is another reason to buy games off Steam. The goal here would be to not piss off your customers. Charging even $20 to play Xbox games on PC is going to piss off a lot of people, let alone $100 or even $500.

In the year 2026, running Xbox and X360 games is not a problem for PC users. Microsoft compliance is no longer a factor. This is how behind Microsoft is with their own product support.

So is Microsoft run by indians now?
There's an epic shit-ton of them at Microsoft. I noticed this back in the mid 2000s when my friend got a job there (and my brother lives near their main campus). He's a white dude who used to work for the Windows team. He met his Indian wife there. She worked on the Office team. He's well over 6 feet tall, and she is basically half his height, lawlz! Anyways yeah I was expecting a lot of whites and Asians at Microsoft, but was very surprised by the sheer massive number of Indians working there.
