Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

I actually will probably end up playing this on PS5, my kid wants one for Astro Bot for Christmas.

the only major PS exclusive left to be ported over to PC is Demon's Souls

$70? No thanks. I think I picked it up for like $30-40 on PS5 not too long ago.

We can also confirm today that new modes and features will be coming to both PC and PS5 at launch that will offer players new challenges and rewards...more details to share on that coming next month, so stay tuned...

A month away and system requirements are still TBD. Why do they do that. I really enjoyed the first, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the 2nd. This time I'll get the most out of the first run by not using the highways.

The gray market sites will probably carry it to bring the price down. One of the great perks of PC gaming is that you have lots of ways to buy a game.

I have vacation the week after but planned on playing BL4 DLC but I could pick this up maybe on Loaded.

Strange they sort of 'stealth dropped' the release date the other day. I've always opposed console exclusivity as a concept, but I'm glad that KojiPro , especially in the wake of Death Stranding Director's Cut being the most succssful on PC/Steam, decided to port it over within the 8-ish month window similar to the original Death Stranding (I would have preferred 3 or 6, but at least it wasn't 12 which some figured it would be). However, what seems to be better this time is unlike the previous game, and cited above, they are going to be updating the PC and PS5 version together - so no more "wait another year for Director's Cut, knowing its coming, but with your original edition" at least.

I've had a great time with the original Death Stranding Director's Cut on PC and was waiting for the lauded sequel's release on my platform of choice so this is a good thing.

Even on the official 'legit' keysellers its already up on GreenManGaming for a standard 15% discount (both versions) and higher than that if you have an account with them and some sort of status - mine is Gold; I fully expect something between 18-23%. When it starts showing up for preorder on other sites we'll see - Humble is often an excellent opportunity if you have a Choice subscription active. Guess we'll see in time; its not on Loaded or some of the other sites yet.

I pretty much am unlikely to buy a new AAA game in the pre-order era without at least grabbing a 20% discount, if I take my time. Some indies that only sell direct on Steam itself or other smaller stuff can be exceptions, but overall even a lot of indies i they sell on Humble for instance I can usually grab a 36% discount pre/at launch between the Choice 20% stacking discount and any starter/preorder 15%-ish discount on the game itself.

Bloodborne

Also the Gran Trissmo games. Sounds like GT7 had its port cancelled, I assume a future GT game will be ported to PC. Demon's Souls is an interesting one as I don't see either of the developers, publisher (Sony) or From from being against a PC version.

Bluepoint did the remaster...I don't think any Bluepoint games are available on PC

Sony has the rights to Demon Soul. Fromsoft had little to none involvement in the remake. It would be thrown same with Bloodborne.

I'm doubting the issue is Sony here. Must be some other odd IP related issue. Sony is okay with putting their 1st party games and their unique IPs onto PC, I don't see why they would have an issue with Demon's Souls. I'm also assuming it would sell a bit better relative to some of their other games on PC. It would be technical, but seeing that Sony has multiple porting studios I'm doubting it. Not that I care for that type of game anyways.

Newegg has Resident Evil Requiem pre-order Steam key for 21% off of $69.99 (shows 15%, but it's actually 21%); it says that the key is sold by Newegg, so I bought that because it seems legit. I'm going to keep an eye out for a DS2 key there.

Death Stranding 2 PC specs detailed

The PC edition of Death Stranding 2 launches with support for NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XESS 2

for the first time on PC, you’ll find Pico as an option in Upscale Settings...this 'Progressive Image Compositor' is developed by Guerrilla for the Decima engine and is the same upscaling technology that’s used for Death Stranding 2 on PS5...Pico upscaling can be used with all supported graphics cards and can be combined with the various options for frame generation offered in the game...

With only a few days left, I guess I'll have to watch one of those recap videos that explains what the hell even happened in the first game. I only barely remember the story and world lore. Well, that and I guess I need to relearn what all those acronyms meant.

They say the full version, without DRM, leaked online. 113GB in the torrents
WTF?!?!

I vaguely recall Kojima saying he prefers multi-platform after exclusivity periods. He might still have that much power over his "works" even when Sony is the publisher.

I'm not sure if Sony can pay enough to offset the lack of PC and Xbox (despite dwindling) sales. Kojima will likely try and self publish or find someone else in the future. 505 Games published the PC version of DS1. OD, Kojima's next game, is being made with UE5 and published by Xbox Game Studios. I assume if MS and Sony decide to go back to console exclusives Kojima will likely have a prior arrangement for OD to come to Playstation. Physint, the other game being worked on, is being published by Sony and will again use the Decima engine apparently. That can be a problem moving forward potentially. Even though Kojima is 3rd party if Sony decides to stop porting their games to PC they might take it a step further and disallow their in house engines to be used on games ported to PC as well. In which case, Physint might have issues coming to PC.
