Pretty neat that it comes with the tin -- but it is annoying when someone requests a premium price and says it is tested/working, yet doesn't supply any pictures of the proof of life.

Not much at all. About a 10th of a gram. By the time you extract it you'll be negative on cost. It only really makes sense to do it on a massive scale. Or you could be like those ebay sellers that just melts down all the metal into a giant chunk and say they're scrap computer gold bars and put like $150-300 on it, when it contains about $20 of gold.

You make far more money selling the actual parts.

Hence why I hate the metal scrappers who come near processors/ram. Working stuff should just be kept in circulation until it truly dies imo.

That is also true with vintage appliances! and lighting
I really love older US made appliances particularly air conditioners! R-22 for LYFE LoL!

That's why I basically have a museum in my basement and computer room. lol
This is what I initially set out to do, but then I needed to use stuff so everything got put to work. I actually have a P3-500 running 98se that has an RDP client that I can use to connect to win7 machines, lol.

Yep!! Anything that works! So much stuff was built to last far better than todays e-trash that's designed to fail 5 minutes after the warranty is over and has zero serviceability.

At some point it's simply not worth the cost in electricity to run older hardware, though, relative to their performance.

Not that it would stop me personally, my computer hasn't been shut off in probably 20 years aside from upgrades or when I leave on vacation 😂

This really hits home because I just paid more for an R-22 recharge than I did for my most recent GPU purchase 😭

Did you look into the R-22 "Drop-in" alternative refrigerants?
Such as MO99 (R-438A), RS-44b (R-453a), and R-421A

My HVAC pro recommended R-22. I have a 26 year old HVAC. I'm lucky it's lasted this long with that being the only recent major maintenance cost.

Odds are, there won't be another recharge.
