Hi, let me explain the situation.

I use Acronis to back up my internal hard drive with Windows installed. The program clones the entire drive to an external hard drive.

I upgraded my computer a few years ago (from an i7 6900K to a Ryzen 9 7900X3D). I cloned the drive from my old PC to the new one, and everything went perfectly.

The only issue is that my old Windows drive (i7 6900K) was 1 TB, while the new one (Ryzen 9 7900X3D) is 2 TB.

Since I cloned the new drive, I only have 1 TB partitioned (the SSD is 2 TB).

Do you know how I can expand that partition so I can use the full 2 TB? Ideally, without formatting.

Hello, I tried the MiniTool Partition Wizard program. It has an "Extend" option to use the partition and take the free space from the unallocated area, but I don't know how this program works.

If I extend the space, do I need to make another backup with Acronis? If I restore from the backup I currently have, will it reassign the partitions as they are now?

Can I delete any of the "small" partitions: the 886 MB (recovery partition), the 100 MB (EFI partition), or the 521 MB? If I delete them, will Windows stop working?

MiniTool also has a "Merge" option; I have no idea how that works.

So i would not suggest deleting any partitions created by windows. I believe the efi ledger is requied to boot properly and the recovery partition is self explanatory. As for backup its a good idea to have a backup before extending the partition in case aomething goes wrong but simply extending a partition shouldnt require you restore anything to it unless something goes wrong. The extra partitions are small just leave them. Extend the primary partition to use the free space and call it a day.
 
From the many times I've extended, deleted, etc, I'd say, no, you can't easily extend your C drive position.... there are no partitions you can delete that are next to the C, you can venture into moving the small ones around, but that's not really safe. Those small ones are usually before the C
